ReWild 2024 Volunteer Recognition
Volunteers make rewilding happen. We can’t grow more rewilded spaces on Long Island without attracting new hands and hearts to our movement. With this in view, ReWild is announcing the following volunteer recognition policy for 2024.
We are not offering paid membership anymore. Previously, members received discounts and early access to plant sales. We have discontinued this practise in 2024.
However, we continue to reward volunteers. Recognized volunteers from 2023 will be eligible for preferential treatment at our Spring 2024 and Fall 2024 Native Plant Sales.
Discount: Registered 2023 volunteers will receive a 20% off discount code by email.
Exclusive early access: The first 5 days of the plant sale will be reserved for volunteers with a discount code only. This is to ensure that limited stock plants are preferentially given to ReWild volunteers as a reward for community service.
Remaining plants that have not been donated to public spaces will be available to volunteers at reduced prices.
Everyone is welcome to volunteer for 2024. Volunteers who register 10 hours at ReWild organized events will be recognized for Discounts and Exclusive Early Access at the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 Native Plant Sales.
The events have to be organized by a ReWild Committe or one of our Chapters. (Not all events sent out on the email lists are organized by us. Please check.)
You need to track your volunteering so we have a record of it, as below.
ReWild retains final say on whether an event qualifies, and how many hours to award for an activity.
how do I volunteer? How are my hours recorded?
All ReWild Board members, chapter leads and committee chairs are automatically recognized as volunteers. We always welcome such super-volunteers to help us with everything from our accounts to social media to speakers bureau. Reach out to info@rewildongisland.org if you have the time and energy to help make a BIG difference!
Chapter organized local activities counts towards volunteer recognition. Please try the SignUp page first to record your volunteering, and reach out to to the leads if you are not able to use that page. (For example: If you volunteer to help the plant sale, you should register on the Sign Up Sheet. On the other hand, if you volunteered from home writing plant labels, you should contact the leads.)
