Third House Nature Center
Montauk, NY
Third House Nature Center (THNC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to environmental education and advocacy. It provides historical, cultural, and educational programs relating the history of Montauk, NY. THNC is located at Third House, an historic building in Montauk County Park, and is open to the public during summer docent hours.
The volunteer board of THNC consists of environmental professionals as well as interested “citizen scientists.” The pollinator garden application was a board of directors initiative, submitted by Jeanine Miedzwiecki and Theresa Berger. The garden is located at the front entrance of Third House in order to generate interest from the public and encourage volunteers to assist in its maintenance as well as discover the multitude of programs THNC has to offer.
