This webinar features three youth activists, Ann Yao, Cynthia Zhang, and Tiffany Zhang who address solutions to food, biodiversity, and the climate crises through the lens of activism.

Annie, Cynthia, and Tiffany are organizers for the 2023 Summer Program to Fight Hunger and Climate Change, and they have helped create a sustainable garden at the William A. Shine Great Neck South High School. They will not only speak from the heart about the challenges but also the solutions they are enabling with various organizations working in concert across Long Island.

Annie Yao was an intern in last year’s ReWild Summer Program and returned as an organizer this year, of which she mainly does publicity or design. Outside of ReWild, Annie is the treasurer of her school’s environmental club and she loves visiting museums. Annie is excited to bring awareness to the amazing work ReWild did (and what you can do too!) as teens for the environment.

Cynthia Zhang was an intern for ReWild’s summer program, and she returned to help organize the summer program this year in hopes to inspire more students to bring change to the environment. In addition to gardening and nature, Cynthia has a huge love for art and design, so she joined ReWild’s Social Media Committee this year and now leads the team as a co-chair. Outside of ReWild, Cynthia likes making art, cooking/baking, taking care of her balcony garden, studying math, and playing badminton.

Tiffany Zhang became an organizer for this year’s summer program because of the amazing experience she had as an intern at the ReWild Long Island Summer Program last year. She designed and maintains the summer program pages on ReWild’s website and helped publicize and organize this year’s summer program. Outside of gardening, Tiffany likes dancing to K-pop songs, playing badminton, and doodling.
