First Planting Day
at the new
Community Garden in Valley Stream
Join ReWild Long Island & The Village of Valley Stream with special guest Assemblywoman Solages, as we collaborate to create a special space to nurture plants, pollinators & friendships.
A portion of this garden is a grant-recipient from the ReWild Community Gardens Program and was designed by the ReWild / South Nassau Chapter leads.
Throughout the growing season, the South Nassau chapter welcomes the community to gather in the garden and learn
how to maintain a sustainable, native garden
the role native plants and we human caretakers play in the cycle of life that benefits the health of our pollinators, plants, people, soils and shore life
This family- and group-friendly activity is open to all, whether you’re new to sustainable gardening or a master gardener. We’ll work together to learn and grow.
If you’re interested making a difference in our community, whether in this event or in the soon-to-be-announced community gardening opportunities in this location, email Sabrina@ReWildLongIsland.org
