ReWild Garden at First Universalist Church

Southold, NY

Garden site in progress

This ReWild Garden at the Unitarian Universalists of Southold Meeting House is an apropos symbol for the rebirth of our building, which was consumed by fire in 2015, as it thrives and flourishes. Situated on the original footprint of the 1835 building, this contemplative garden is "at the gateway" to the village of Southold and can be a welcoming space for the entire community. By using native species, chosen for their tolerance of the Long Island environment, we hope to follow one of the 7 Great Principles of the Unitarian Universalist faith: Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are all a part. In the future, we will incorporate other native plants in the larger landscape plans.
