The ReWild/Valley Stream Chapter, in partnership with the Village of Valley Stream, is excited to announce the establishment of a community garden starting in May 2025. The goal of this initiative is to enhance the health and beauty of our community.
In this special space, ReWild members will collaborate with the community and local schools to share the principles of sustainable gardening. The garden will feature a vegetable section surrounded by beneficial native plants, demonstrating how to grow food while supporting local ecosystems. Designed to be welcoming and accessible to everyone, it will serve as a hub for hands-on learning, workshops, and community engagement, inspiring a deeper appreciation for native plants, pollinators, and sustainable living.
The central garden, named “The Circle of Life,” was designed by ReWild members Sabrina Yazdpour, Dianna Facci, and Cheryl Bennet during the ReWild Garden Design Workshop in 2025.
The ReWild Garden at Valley Stream Community Garden is managed by the South Nassau Chapter of ReWild. Reach us at southnassau-leads@rewildlongisland.org.
