The ReWild Garden at the Vine Church

Southold, NY

The Vine at North Fork United Methodist Church represents the successful merger of four older United Methodist Churches located in Southold Town. That project entailed using the accumulated properties assets to be able to construct a sustainable building with a very small carbon footprint.

The last piece of the plan is now in the works, as we endeavor to become more ecologically friendly with respect to our landscaping. So, in the past two years we have cut back approximately one acre of mowing, plus we have totally eliminated the use of fertilizers, while also significantly reducing the need to water.

The next phase is plant native flowers and grasses to help establish more natural habitat and pollinator pathways.

That project calls for us to remove approximately one thousand square feet of sod abutting the corner area of our property and be ready to plant by the fall. Which is why we reached out to Re-Wild for their assistance
